Nwoko, wife boost anti-malaria war with $750,000
A former member of the House of Representatives, Mr Ned Nwoko, on Wednesday launched a campaign to wipe out malaria from Africa with $750,000.
According to him, under the “audacious journey towards a malaria-free Nigeria and Africa,” the grant of $150,000 would be made available by Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation, to be accessed by scientific scholars in five universities in Africa.
The ace politician, who stated this during a press conference he held in Abuja with his wife and Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, said he had declared emergency and total war against malaria in Africa.
He said plans had reached an advanced stage for him to “sponsor a bill at the National Assembly for the National Fumigation Day in Nigeria” promising to encourage the same measure in other African countries.
Nwoko said, “We were invited for discussion in Antarctica and they said they were looking for a couple that will highlight the problem of malaria in Africa.”
